BEFORE & AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAMS
Cedar Tree Academy is one of the most comprehensive and trusted Early Childhood Schools in the District of Columbia.
Before and After Care
Our OASIS Before-care/After-care Program is an extended learning program that provides the children with a chance to grow mentally, physically, socially and creatively. Before-care runs from 6:30 to 7:45 a.m. and after-care runs from 3:30 to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. To sign up, visit Cedar Tree Academy and fill out an application with the program director. Parents can apply for before-care, after-care or both. All applications should provide an email address and emergency contact number.
The before-care and after-care staff are CTA teachers with a passion for teaching children how to be productive in and out of school. All staff are certified in CPR.
All activities help the students with their motor skills, such as cutting, reading, recognizing shapes and colors, and playing games that promote fitness and group play. We believe in learning by having fun.

Rising Stars Tutoring Program
Rising Stars is a tutoring program housed within Cedar Tree Academy. The program begins in September and ends in May of each year. The program begins directly afterschool and ends at 5:45 pm. Students will be tutored by qualified staff Monday-Thursday. The intent of the program is to provide intensive instruction to students in the evening to ensure retention of previously taught material and to provide an extra support for identified students. The program will feature small learning groups taught by highly-qualified and motivated teachers.
Selection to the Program and Hours
The program will serve 100 students in the Kindergarten and Pre-Kindergarten classes. There is no fee for parents for this program. Kindergarten students have first priority in order to get them ready for first grade.
Evaluation of our Program
Students take a pre and post test to determine the level of success of our scholars. This year will serve as our base line year and we look forward to evaluating the success of our program in the years to come. The Program Director holds the responsibility for the overall evaluation of the program.
Rising Stars is an intensive compact program. We expect students to be here every day that the program is in session. It is easy to sign up since the program is only open to our scholars.
